PADI Scuba Diving Certification Courses

Requirements of the course: 

• Read three out of five chapters in the Open Water book along with completing the knowledge reviews for each of those chapters.
• Complete three of the five confined water dives from the beach; and
• Complete two of the four open water dives from the full Open Water certification.

• Duration: 2 days
• Prerequisite: Minimum 10 years of age
• What's Included: Manual, equipment, tanks, beach fees, certification fees, instruction, and transportation to and from the beach to the shop.

The course is very intensive but yet very fun. There are three sections:

1. Knowledge Development- This section requires you to read five chapters of the Open Water textbook followed by answering questions and quizzes at the end of each chapter. You are required to watch a video which reiterates everything you learned in the textbook. Followed by a multiple choice exam of 50 questions. It is a very simple read so there is no reason to feel intimidated.
2. Confined Water Dives- You learn basic scuba diving skills from the beach in shallow water of up to 15 feet (5 meters). You will complete five confined water dives which will cover everything you need to know as an introductory Open Water Diver. An instructor will explain the objectives behind each skill and give a demonstration both on land and in the water to further assist you in mastering the necessary skills to become certified.
3. Open Water Dives – The course is comprised of four open water dives. From the beach, you will complete your four dives where you will descend no deeper than 40 feet (12 meters) to demonstrate your mastering of the basic scuba diving skills learned in the confined water section. On the last day, you will complete your last two open water dives from the beach. This will give you the opportunity to enjoy diving and to really experience the feeling of being an Open Water diver.

• Prerequisite:  Must be 10 years old or older. You must have adequate swimming skills and be in good physical health. Prior experience scuba diving is not required.

It  is very interactive including all of the knowledge reviews, quizzes and the final exam. Everything you need for completion of the theory portion of the course. You can read/study at your own pace while in the comforts of your own home.  It can also be downloaded to read while offline.

During your stay in Cozumel, you will need to complete the inwater portion only. The first two days are completed at the beach with your Instructor where you will complete all the confined water exercises and the first two open water dives. The third day, you will complete your last two open water dives from boat.

Completing the online eLearning option before heading out on vacation is a great way to enjoy more time on your vacation and possibly to enjoy more dives. What better place to do it then in the warm turquoise waters of Cozumel.

Furthermore, you will have the option to complete either the Drift, Boat, Peak Performance Buoyancy specialty or Emergency Oxygen Provider. The first dive of the specialty course requiring a water portion is incorporated with the skills required for the Open Water course and the second dive will take place on the second day after you have completed the first two open water dives necessary in the Open Water course. All three courses will help you further enhance your diving skills.

Please note: There are no dives required for the Emergency Oxygen Provider Course.

On the first two days, you will complete the confined water portion and the first two open water dives from the beach with your instructor. Here in Cozumel, we have a beautiful sheltered shallow reef where you can truly experience diving from the minute you get in the water.

On the third day, you will complete the last two open water dives from boat. It is here you will really get to experience the fun in diving from a boat. You will have less skills to complete and more time to have an enjoyable experience.

Taking place from the beach on the first day, you will descend in water no deeper than 40 feet (12 meters), you will complete your first two Open Water dives. Here in Cozumel, we have a beautiful sheltered shallow reef where you can truly experience diving from the minute you get in the water. Your last two Open Water dives will take place from boat where you will have more time to enjoy the beautiful reefs of Cozumel.

• Duration: 2 days
• Prerequisite:  Minimum 10 years old with a signed referral document valid within 1 year.
• What's Included: Equipment, computer, instruction, certification fees, beach fees, marine park fees,  transportation to and from the shop to the beach and the marina, two open water shore dives and two open water boat dives. Upgrade to four boat dives at an additional cost. Inquire within.

This certification will allow you to dive to 100 feet (30 meters) giving you access to the majority of Cozumel’s reefs.

The course can be completed in 2 days. There are two days of two tank boat dives and a navigation shore dive. You are also required to read five sections applicable to the adventure dives you complete and answer knowledge development questions for each of these sections. There is no exam for this course.

The course is offered through elearning which allows you to complete the theory prior to arriving giving you more time to enjoy your vacation.

• Duration: 2 days
• Prerequisite: Open Water Diver (Junior) who is minimum 12 years old

You will participate in a few different scenarios where you will demonstrate what you have learned in the course.

The EFR course meets the CPR and first aid training requirements for the PADI Rescue Diver course and all professional-level ratings.

• Duration: 1 day
• Prerequisite: The only prerequisite to the course is a desire to learn and an ability to understand the course content. Anyone of any age can take this course.

This course is the most challenging yet the most rewarding. You learn to prevent and manage problems in the water, and become more confident in your skills as a diver. The course is fun – it’s serious, but still allows for lots of laughter in between all the learning.

This course prepares you to deal with dive emergencies using a variety of techniques. Through knowledge development and rescue exercises, you learn what to look for and how to respond. During rescue scenarios, you put into practice your knowledge and skills.

• Duration: 3 days
• Prerequisite: Adventure Divers who are at least 12 years old and have completed the Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive may enroll in this course. You also need to have Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (CPR and First Aid) training within the past 24 months.
• What's included: Manual, equipment excluding pocket mask,  instruction, certification fees, beach fees, transportation to and from the shop to the beach and lots of fun.
• Equipment needed: Pocket Mask- please arrive with your own pocket mask or you can purchase one in store.

It is the most challenging course yet the most rewarding. You learn to prevent and manage problems in the water, and become more confident in your skills as a diver. The course is fun – it’s serious, but still allows for lots of laughter in between all the learning.

This course prepares you to deal with dive emergencies using a variety of techniques. Through knowledge development and rescue exercises, you learn what to look for and how to respond. During rescue scenarios, you put into practice your knowledge and skills.

After completing the theory portion online before your arrival, you will complete three days of practical in-water exercises while here in Cozumel.

• What's included: eLearning, pocket mask, equipment, instruction, certification fees, beach fees, transportation to and from the shop to the beach and lots of fun.

You can choose from Project AWARE, Search and Recovery, Emergency Oxygen Provider, and Self Reliant Diver.

This course is the most challenging course yet the most rewarding. You learn to prevent and manage problems in the water, and become more confident in your skills as a diver. The course is fun – it’s serious, but still allows for lots of laughter in between all the learning.

This course prepares you to deal with dive emergencies using a variety of techniques. Through knowledge development and rescue exercises, you learn what to look for and how to respond. During rescue scenarios, you put into practice your knowledge and skills.

After completing the theory portion online before your arrival, you will complete three days of practical in-water exercises while here in Cozumel. Furthermore, depending on the Specialty chosen, you will have additional days of theory and in-water sessions.
