Cozumel has abundant reefs that are just off the southern shore of the island, swept by a mild current and offering many shallow nearshore coral gardens that makes it great for the novice diver. For those more experienced divers, don't worry. Cozumel offers areas with swifter current and coral pinnacles near the drop-off that is challenging for the intermediate divers and vertical walls in deep water for the advanced diver.
